N° 01 · Standards we live by

Meet the standards

The same sourcing rulebook that has fed over a million American families for the last decade — now in your dog's bowl.

N° 01 · A higher bar

You read the labels on your food. Now read ours.

"Meat by-products." "Animal meal." "Natural flavour." If those words wouldn't survive a glance at your own dinner plate, they shouldn't be the foundation of your dog's, either. The Dash Dog Food standard isn't a marketing claim — it's the same sourcing rulebook ButcherBox has used to feed thousands of American families for the last decade.

The Dash promise Every ingredient that ends up in your dog's bowl has to clear the same bar we'd want on our own table — traceable origin, humane welfare, no shortcuts, no fillers, and absolutely no compromises on what gets called "meat."
01
Dash Dog Food meal with whole-food ingredients
Standard 01 · Sourcing

Real meat, named and traced.

Our recipes start with real, whole-muscle protein — not by-products, not "meal," not anonymous animal flavour. 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef. Free-range, GAP-3 certified organic chicken. The same calibre of protein we'd send to a human kitchen.

  • 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef
  • Free-range, GAP-3 certified organic chicken
  • Never any antibiotics or added hormones, ever
  • No by-products, no rendered "meal," no anonymous "natural flavour"
02
Gently cooked Dash Dog Food meal beside dog
Standard 02 · Processing

Gently cooked. Nothing wasted.

Most commercial kibble is extruded at temperatures so high they incinerate the nutrition the brand spent the front of the bag promising. We sous vide cook at 165°F — low enough to preserve nutrients, hot enough to be food-safety perfect. Then we flash-freeze and ship.

  • Sous vide cooked at 165°F to lock in nutrients
  • No high-heat extrusion, no rendering
  • Flash-frozen and shipped to your door
  • Recipe-level transparency on every batch
03
Vet-developed recipe portion of Dash Dog Food
Standard 03 · Nutrition

Recipes built by vets, not marketers.

Every Dash Dog Food recipe is developed with veterinary nutritionists and meets or exceeds AAFCO nutrient profiles for the life stage on the label. We don't bolt "boutique" claims onto a base formula — every recipe is balanced from the protein up.

  • Veterinary-nutritionist developed
  • Meets or exceeds AAFCO standards for the life stage
  • No fillers, preservatives, or animal by-products
  • Real fruit and vegetables, never powdered "premix"
04
Dash Dog Food delivery box at front door
Standard 04 · Transparency

If we can't trace it, we don't ship it.

Every protein has a sourcing partner we can name. Every batch has a record. If you want to know where the beef in your March box came from, we can tell you. That's a habit ten years of building ButcherBox burned into us — and it doesn't change because the bowl is on the floor instead of the table.

  • Named sourcing partners on every protein
  • Batch-level traceability, end to end
  • Direct relationships with farms and processors
  • No vague "premium" claims hiding generic supply
N° 02 · What owners notice

Standards show up in the dog.

We could keep going about the supply chain. But the proof isn't in the spec sheet — it's in what changes once you switch. Within a few weeks, most owners tell us they see four things.

— 01

Shinier coats

Real, named-source protein and intact omega-3s show up first in the coat. Less dullness, more shine, fewer flakes.

— 02

Happier bellies

Whole-food ingredients and no synthetic fillers mean fewer surprise bathroom moments and a calmer GI overall.

— 03

More energy

Gently cooked nutrition is more bio-available. Owners report a noticeable shift in stamina on walks and play.

— 04

Fewer flare-ups

Without anonymous "natural flavour" and rendered meal in the mix, low-grade allergy and skin issues often quiet down.
